Women’s Premier League 2009
Teams and Players Needed for Summer Season
Do you want your soccer players to play two more months of soccer this year? The Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association needs college, high school and club soccer coaches to inform their players about the Women’s Premier League (WPL), a competitive women’s summer soccer league.
We are recruiting women ages 16 and older to join the summer WPL either
as teams or individuals.
We encourage U18 teams to play-up in this league against competitive women’s open teams from Appleton, Madison, Green Bay, Brookfield and Milwaukee. The league is organized into three state regions with weekend games and tournaments to make travel reasonable.
WPL offers:
* Seven weeks of competitive soccer in June and July, including a regional tournament
* College players a competitive summer league to maintain a high level of conditioning
* Developing youth players an opportunity to play-up with older, more experienced athletes
* WPL Ray Schommer Cup on July 18-19, 2009, in Appleton, WI
2009 WPL Dates:
May 1, 2009 Team registration deadline and $150 fee due
June 1, 2009 Player registration and remaining team fees due
June 7, 2009 First weekend for scheduled league games
WPL Team and Player Registration
Coaches please encourage one player or parent from your team to act as the manager or contact person for a summer WPL team. The Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association will assist the team managers in finding additional players to complete a team roster. Both teams and individual players should contact the Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association office for more information about the WPL.
We will send team and player registration materials to all interested teams and individuals. Please respond via email to janthes@wiyouthsoccer.com phone 888-328-9972 ext 110 or mail in the enclosed team registration form if you intend to register a WPL team for the 2009 summer season.
Registration forms are available on the web site at: http://www.wiyouthsoccer.com/Leagues/womensleague.htm
Team registration fees are $150 and are due by May 1, 2009. Individual player registration fees are $35 each. Additional required team expenses will include referee payments, uniforms, tournament fees and field rental.
